WASSCE ENGLISH LANGUAGE FIRST QUESTIONS

I remember sitting in that tense-filled examination hall years ago. The first questions on the WASSCE English Language question paper were to write either letters or essays of not less than 450 words. I spent couple of minutes thinking on how to make up to 450 words in writing an informal letter, I thought it as hard task. After the wasted minutes of gazing at the question, I decided to start moving my pen on answer sheet. Few minutes later

THE FIRST RUNNER-UP POWERFUL ENTITIES OF THE UNIVERSE

It is agreeable and obvious that BOOKS are the more powerful entities of the universe. GOD is the most powerful.
The influencing power of books can never be overemphasized.
God Himself wrote His own book(Exo. 34:1) to guide His people before He sent His son. Surprisingly, that same God's book is the backbone behind the Jews' blunt disbelief in the Son of God.
Books can establish religions, raise empires, coronate kings, chisel mindsets, build professionals, forge and refine the heart of men.

LITE TRUTHS FROM THE INSIGNIFICANT

Couple of days ago, I saw this fascinating snake-like lizard(glass lizard). Its look were a bit scary but attractive as well. Its movement pattern caught my attention for some minutes, I admired this little reptile. This admiration led me to a consequential researchh on Lizards. Through the research, I was able to make deductions of three life truths that can be learnt from the behavioural features of  Lizard. These three lessons made me understand the reason behind the Bible's remark of the Lizard as a 'little but exceedingly wise' creature.(Proverbs 30:28).

Lesson 1: ECDYSIS
All lizards grow continuously throughout their lives, however their skin does not grow to accommodate their changing size. It is for this reason that they must shed their skin regularly to allow proper growth.
This depicts their thirst to keep growing at all cost. Like the lizard, we have to outgrow

FIGHT AGAINST 'HUMAN INERTIA'

"Inertia - a tendency to do nothing or to remain unchanged".

At some times in our lives, we feel contented and unconcerned about the present state of life, thinking that could be all we are capable of achieving. but deep down our hearts, we know we've not yet attained the life of our dream and the purpose of God for us. We conclude there is nothing else we can do to make positive changes. This depicts "HUMAN INERTIA".
Life is not designed to reward inertia. Lack of drive is the problem of many people today, not the absence of opportunities. People are loosing their sense of accomplishment, purpose and most of all

IF I PERISH, I PERISH

This is a language spoken and understood only by men with Lion’s heart. These are men who have sealed their hearts with courage and had drunken from the cup of fearlessness. Conquering warriors know how to speak these words and understands its true meaning. This is the language that helps them conquer wars. It fills their hearts with rivers of faith and boldness, giving them de-magnifying eyes which makes them see mountains as plains.

THE GOLDEN RULE; THE GIVING RULE

"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom." - Luke 6:38

"While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest,… shall not cease." - Genesis 8:22

"Give, even if you only have a little." - Buddha

Not just only the Bible propounded this rule, the Quran and other religious books forwarded this same rule, which solidifies the authenticity and workability of this rule. With all these back-ups, it can be vividly deduced that it is a natural rule guiding the earth. It’s a golden rule, it’s the secret of

THE ONLY MAN THAT CAN STOP YOU

We live in a world where excuses are uncountable as sands. Diverse life events take place at some certain points of our lives. These events might gear our lives towards positive expectations or negative mishaps. When the negative-resulting events occur, it draws one back in life’s journey, denying one what he/she should have gained. These negative occurrences may be as a result of
